ALL ABOUT AROMATHERAPY

Firstly, what is Aromatherapy?

Well, I’m glad you asked. Aromatherapy is an ancient therapeutic treatment using practitioner grade pure essential oils from plants which enhances your wellbeing, relieves stress and helps in rebalancing your body, mind and spirit.

So what are practitioner grade essential oils then?
Practitioner grade essential oils are complex, aromatic chemical compounds, extracted from the plant’s flowers, leaves, stems, roots, fruit, bark and seeds, which have a pharmacological and energetic effect on your body’s physiology.

When these essential oils with a common therapeutic action are combined, they create a synergistic effect, thereby working more effectively.

Some examples of essential oils commonly used by Aromatherapists include Lavendula angustifolia (lavender), Pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary), Thymus vulgaris (thyme) and Boswellia carteri (frankincense).

My Aromatherapy Treatments

If your life has been going full steam ahead, then my Aromatherapy Treatments will be a wonderful way to rejuvenate your body of its energy, allowing you to take charge of the wheel again.

If you’re experiencing difficult times with the loss of someone or even the loss of a job, home or just going through a change that you’re not that excited about, then my Aromatherapy Treatments will help you cope better with the underlying emotional stresses you would be enduring.

Or maybe you are in need of a little pampering and would like to reward yourself for some goal you’ve reached. Then my Aromatherapy Treatments are just perfect for relaxing and nurturing you!

What is the Aromatherapy Treatment?

The treatment is a full body massage which utilises the essential oils to help rebalance your body. After an initial consultation, I will design a unique blend of essential oils with the appropriate dilution and massage it into your body. I may also prescribe a special blend to be used between treatments to assist in your overall treatment plan. Full body massage is one of the most effective ways of administering essential oils because it’s distributing the oils over a larger surface area, allowing for greater absorption into your bloodstream.

The style of massage I use is called the ‘Arcier Technique’, which was developed by French Aromatherapist, Micheline Arcier in the 1950s. The beauty of the Arcier Technique is that it combines a number of other massage techniques, such as Swedish, Lymphatic Drainage, Neuro-muscular Acupressure, Shiatsu, Polarity Therapy and Reflexology. All these different techniques assist in the holistic treatment of your body.

The initial treatment takes 1½ hours which includes a thorough consultation. Price is $80. Follow up treatments are an hour and are $75.

Should you require any deep tissue massage, maybe you need to try my Remedial Massage…

READ ABOUT REMEDIAL

If you’re suffering from overworked, sore and tight muscles, and need a good, strong massage to smooth out any knots, then this one’s for you.

I will adjust my pressure according to what you like, and use a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Trigger Point techniques to loosen up your muscles, allowing you to increase your mobility and sit, stand and move with more ease.

You can choose between 30, 45 or 60 minutes sessions. Price is $45, $55 and $65 respectively.

A LITTLE MORE ON ME

After many stressful years in the busy world of IT, I thought there must be something more to life. I’ve always enjoyed helping people and aim to give them the same high standard of service that I like to receive, but I discovered that the industry I was in just wasn’t satisfying. Then I rekindled an old passion for Aromatherapy and, as they say, the rest was history.

I completed a 2 year Diploma of Health Science (Aromatherapy) at the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) in beautiful Brisbane. I also completed a 1 year Certificate IV in Remedial Therapies. Upon graduating, I received an “Excellence in Clinical Practice” award for my year, which was totally unexpected and completely humbling, as I was only working hard on a subject that I loved, so there was never any question of trying to motivate myself. The subject of Aromatherapy was motivation enough for me!

I absolutely love what I do, and I strongly believe that in order to give the best results, you must firstly have the best intentions in mind. I ALWAYS will treat people in a respectful and caring manner, and my personal approach is warm and friendly with a shot of humour to keep life interesting.

I love to smile and encourage everyone to do the same. Remember…that it takes more muscles in the face to frown than it does to smile. Think about that.

Whilst you’re thinking about that, here’s another saying that I love:

“A smile costs nothing but enriches those who receive it”.

How true.

THE CLINIC

"As I walked up from the newsagent & Oxford Rd train station crossing I could smell Tippy's lovely Aromatherapy oils".
- Lynnette K

Wow I can't believe it's been well over a year since I went ou on my own and opened my clinic. I have truly been blessed by receiving the support of the local community and many people have remarked that they often wished there was a massage clinic there! So I'm glad I chose the right path! I love being there and it is like a home away from home for me. Which is important because if you don't love what you do then it's not worth it. Always follow your heart and you will find peace.

There is plenty of FREE parking on-site for you (a rarity these days) and the clinic is easy to find. It's at the Dawson Parade end of Blaker Road next to The Quilter's Corner.

Credit card facilities are available for your convenience for a small fee and health fund rebates may apply depending on your health fund and level of cover.

I also offer gift vouchers
for any service or time session.

Should you have any further enquiries, please feel free to call me directly on 0410 216 243.

I look forward to hearing from you.

THANK YOU

I would like to take this opportunity
to thank all my clients, family, friends,
suppliers and other hidden angels
for all their support throughout 2008.
My clinic wouldn't exist without you all!
Wishing everyone the very best of health.
May all your dreams for 2009 come true.

Warmest Wishes
Tippy
